Meet Lynne

Little did I know when I graduated with a degree in education,  I would be teaching massage techniques!

After a brief stint teaching in the public sector, I wound up at an agency handling the advertising for a major restaurant chain. The position led to ulcers, migraines, and seeking regular massage.

I would ask my massage therapists where they attended school and each time, the answer was a school out of state.

Even after I left my migraine-inducing job,  I was settled in Nashville with a hubby, two kids, two cats and a dog. Out of state was not an option.  Then came the answer I wanted to hear, “right here in Nashville.” I almost jumped off the table to apply.  When you know, you know.

After receiving my license, I assisted my mentor with classes in Ohio. They were great weekend getaways where I was totally immersed in neuromuscular therapy.  In 2000, while still going to Ohio, I started teaching neuromuscular release therapy continuing education at my massage alma mater.

This led to becoming the core curriculum instructor in neuromuscular therapy. All the while, I was building my practice and refining this technique. My practice became very busy and I retired from that teaching position in 2017.

The biggest thing I love about Neuromuscular Release Therapy is its paradigm of “less is more” and “no pain.” I became a massage therapist to help people, not hurt. By being present and paying attention to the muscle fibers softly yielding to your pressure, you will be surprised how deeply the muscle will allow you to go and how easy it is on you.

Touch is sacred and healing, neuromuscular shouldn’t be an exception. It you’re looking for a “no pain, no gain method”, this isn’t  it.

I have a passion for teaching this work! Not only do I see results, my clients, former students and CE participants have as well.  It is a true blessing for me to be able to fulfill my dream of teaching and practicing what I love.

See you beside the table!
